Michael Page brings this awesome audiobook to life!!!

Oh, what fun this audiobook, Peter Nimble and His Fantastic Eyes, is! Written for children, it can nevertheless be supremely enjoyed by adults.

There are locks galore that the nimble Peter is challenged by; there are birds of every kind, and you don’t know who’s on what side. There are kingdoms where adults don’t know what the heck a child is; there are brave and loyal dogfish, willing to return a good deed.

Sure, there’s the occasional bloodbath, the bouts of complete and utter carnage, but I think nowadays they’re nothing to what a kid sees on their video/TV screens. Besides, it all leaves the listener breathless and shouting, urging Peter and Sir Tod on (and there never was a better sidekick than Sir Tod—champion extraordinaire… just don’t refer to him as a little cat! Oh no, don’t even think of doing that!).

Michael Page does a truly masterful job in this audiobook. Sure, he butchers Jane Austen (I’d review that later, but his performance of women’s voices there is so laughable that I’d giggle throughout the review), but here he shines. People are creepy; they’re funny; they’re earnest; they’re downright evil. And Page ratchets up the tension, bit by anxiety-inducing bit.

This is such a wondrous, wonderful audiobook; you’ll enjoy it immensely. There’s a sequel (soon to be reviewed), and I can’t wait to listen to Auxier’s latest book for kids. If he crafted it anywhere near as cleverly as he did Peter Nimble, it’s sure to be stellar!

Give this audiobook a try when you just want something fun and that’ll make you chortle. You’ll be so glad you did!
